hundreds of glacier lakes, immensely rich flower meadows and wildlife surprise those who imagine the country to be nothing but barren steppes. And also the honey from the upper grasslands and forests is enough to climb any mountain. Ideal for those who enjoy intensive trekking. HIGHLIGHTS • Trans-Kackar Trek 11 DAYS TREKKİNG through the most beautiful and wildest mountains of Turkey - difficulty II-III • Mt Kackar (3937 m) Climb the highest summit of The Kackar (Little Caucaus) range difficulty II • Ayder Thermal spring • Sumela Monastery Visit 1000 year old Monastery of the Virgin Mary TRİP ITINERARY: Day 1: Erzurum You will be met by our tour leader at theErzurum airport and then transfer to Yusufeli.Pension Day 2: Yaylalar - Korahmet Valley Transfer to Yaylalar village. In the afternoon,warm-up trek in Korahmet Valley, where the Bulut Mountains dominates the view ahead. There is an opportunity to meet with the localvillagers. Return to Yaylalar. Pension Day 3: Uzumlu – Modut Valley One of the best treks in Kackar Mountains, not very challenging but the scenery makes you glad to be in Kackar. Return to Yaylalar.Pension Day 4: Yaylalar - Dilberduzu We trek up to Dilberduzu via high mountain pastures following the stream comes from the glaciers. During the trek we may encounter the villagers that live here during the summer to graze their flocks. Dilberduzu campsite (2900m) is a flat meadow by the streamsurrounded by the steep hills. Camp Day 5: Mt. Kackar - Summit Day(3937 m) An early start for the Mt.Kackar Summit. An easy but demanding ascent over rock and scree without any technical difficulties. Theview from the summit above the clouds is simply stunning with the whole Kackar range, and beyond to the Caucaus. On a clear day, you may have chance to see the Legendary Mt. Ararat. After a short break on the summit return to our Dilberduzu campsite. Camp Day 6: Dupeduz Trek to Dupeduz, with the spectacular views of Kackar range on the paths covered with wild flora. Camp Day 7: Yukari Kavron via Caymakcur Pass (3100m) Trek to Yukari Kavron towards the Caymakcur pass around the hidden lakes. If the weather is good we will have chance to swim in Kara Deniz Lake. Pension Day 8: Derebasi Lake Today we walk to the Derebasi Lake where you can see the source of lake comes from the glacier. Great opportunity to swim in the glacier lake. Return back to Yukari Kavron. Pension Day 9: Samistal - Ayder A spectacular trek to Samistal plateau through the colorful flowers which you can not find somewhere else. Scenery from the top is simply stunning with the full view of Kackar range. Trek down to Ayder, where wewill reward our bodies in one of the thermal springs. Pension Day 10: Sumela Monastery - Trabzon Drive to Trabzon via Sumela Monastery visit a magnificient architecture which was carved into the rock face of a canyon. City tour of Trabzon, the biggest harbour of Black Sea Region. Hotel Day 11: Trabzon: Tour ends in Trabzon.
